Family Living is a service that provides 24 hours of coverage and support by one designated Family Living Provider to an individual who receives DD Waiver funding and is over the age of 18. This service can be provided in their family’s home or a “host” or surrogate home.
Family Living Providers have the opportunity to provide one on one support to an individual in a family setting and are key in assisting the individual they support in gaining independence. Family Living Providers help develop and implement ISP outcomes on a daily basis, as well as assisting with countless other learning opportunities that should come up in a home setting. Family Living Providers are screened and trained by the agency as well as any Therapists the individual might be utilizing, and some trainings must be updated annually.
